Reflections: God’s Kindness to Us

Stop dwelling on the past.
Don’t even remember these former things.
I am doing something brand new, something unheard of.
Even now it sprouts and grows and matures.
Don’t you perceive it?
I will make a way in the wilderness
and open up flowing streams in the desert.

Holy Spirit, we want to be more like Jesus today than we were yesterday – and more like Him tomorrow than we are today
Isaiah 43:18 & 19 (Passion Translation).

Time to consider 3 Key Questions!

1, What are you allowing from your past experience to hinder your today?

God doesn’t want us hindered by our past or fearful for the future.

“The past is history, the future is a mystery, but the present is a gift”.

In order to live life to the full today, we need to bring things from the past to Him for supernatural healing.

Bring what still causes pain into the light so healing can come. He wants TRUTH to replace the LIES that we carry.

“From experience, I have found that it is always better on the other side of letting go of the pain of the past” (Michelle)

In His kindness, He will fulfil His promise and ‘restore the years the locusts have eaten’ Joel 2:25

If He has highlighted things –

Pray with me:- Holy Spirit I say ‘Yes’ to the journey and ‘Yes’ to the healing. Please help me to walk this path of healing with you. I will no longer be bound by the past but partner with you to come through in victory. Amen.

2, What are you feeding yourself that hinders your growth?

We become what we spend most of our time looking at.

Look at your daily habits and ask Holy Spirit:-

“What am I feeding myself with”?

“What am I allowing into my spirit daily”?

“Are these things for this season”?

This is a season we can grow in the fruit of Self-Control.

Pray! Please Holy Spirit. Help me to grow in the area of Self- Control, so that I can make right choices. You know what I am feeding my spirit when no-one else is watching. Help me to partner with you in feeding on Christ.

“I want to find satisfaction in Christ alone”! Amen.

3, What aspects of your life were just busyness and not things God has called you to?

Am I doing this because:-

a) I think I should?
b) Habit?
c) God has asked me?

If there is no room for God to interrupt our lives or no time to ‘stop for the one in front of us’ – we are too busy!

What if we:-

STOP – long enough for Him to talk to us.

LOOK – at what we are doing on a daily basis.

LISTEN – to what God says He wants us to do in this New Season.

PRAY! Holy Spirit, please re-arrange my priorities and show me what to lay down in this season.

So! What is the new all about?

Back to the basics – Pursuing His Priorities!

a) Loving God and loving our neighbour!

b) Making disciples of All Nations!

In our busyness we can forget what’s important to God.

It is the ORIGINAL mandate and mission:-

He calls us to ‘be disciples who make disciples’.

Discipleship is a lifestyle, not a programme.

He is preparing us for a new way of living and sharing life.

Use this time to ask God for Wisdom, Guidance and Discipline to lay down all that will hinder in the next season, so that we present Him with empty hands. Then our hands are free to receive everything He wants us to take hold of in the new.

I bless you to embrace God’s Kindness and to be transformed!
