Life In All It’s Fullness

Reflections Devotional from All Nations Church Leicester

God’s sacrificial love for us gives us life. Not just a mere existence, but a superior life in all its fullness such that we overflow with His goodness.

The story in Matthew. 9:20 demonstrates that life overflows through Christ. A woman with an issue of blood for twelve years reached out in faith to touch the fringe of His garment, and life flowed through Jesus such that she experienced an overflow of His life; in fact, Jesus “perceived power going out of Him” (Luke 8:46, NKJV).

So often, we underestimate the life of God in us. Because we are connected with Jesus we can also overflow with life; in reality, we can “do even greater things” (John 14:12, NIV). We need to walk into situations with confidence, knowing change will come because we bring life into the situation, just like Jesus did.

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only son, so that he who believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life”. John 3:16

How can we walk in the fullness of His life and overflow? you may ask.

  1. Involve Jesus in every aspect of our lives through continual conversation with Him – (Prayer)
  2. He will then show us His will in every situation – (Revelation)
  3. We can then take everything we have received from Him and release it into our environment – (Overflow)

Arise! and Go into the City

It is God’s desire that we find life and return into the city regardless of whether we feel accepted or rejected by those in the city. In Acts 14: 1-20, Paul and Barnabas preached and healed a crippled man in the city. Some people began to worship them, while others stoned Paul and dragged him out of the city leaving him for dead. But, when the disciples gathered around him, he miraculously rose up and continued preaching the gospel.

It is clear from the above-mentioned scripture that when believers gather around and support each other, it causes them to be encouraged and to arise and ‘go into the city’; their places of influence. The church needs to influence the environment around them, so people around can receive life.

We are world changers! We have the power to influence and change our environment through Christ.

As Howard Thurman states: ‘Don’t ask yourself what the world needs. Ask yourself what makes you come alive, and go do that, because what the world needs is people who have come alive.’

Lets Come Alive!!!
