REFLECTIONS: Seeing & Hearing The Righteous One

If you are born again by the Holy Spirit you are a child of God and have received the blessing of sonship.  You know the will of God centred in Jesus, he is your perfect provision.  Your inheritance is to step into sonship now, to see the righteous one and hear his voice.

We do not always clearly hear God for ourselves which is why we are interdependent on others in the body of the church.  We can actually assist each other in hearing God; we all have something which others in the body need.

God is not confined by logical thinking; he operates outside of the box and does the unexpected. We are taught to be logical but Isaiah says, “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts”. (Isaiah 55 v 9)

We have five senses with which to appreciate the world around us and we can train those senses to feel the Lords presence and detect the invisible realm “Taste and see that the Lord is good” the psalmist tells us. (Psalm 34 v8). There is a physical tasting and a spiritual tasting.  In the same way we need to see Jesus not with our physical eyes but with the eyes of our heart, to have them opened and enlightened.  It takes all of our lives and beyond into eternity to know Jesus and we receive revelation after revelation. It is similar to when a diamond turns in the light and you see another facet of that precious jewel, likewise you keep seeing another facet of who Jesus is.

God is not confined by logical thinking; he operates outside of the box and does the unexpected. We are taught to be logical but Isaiah says, “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts”. (Isaiah 55 v 9)

God wants to resurrect your hopes and dreams beyond your imagination. Jeremiah 29 verse 11 says: “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future”.  God never disappoints. He wants to resurrect your plans and desires, to partner with you in what He has planted within you.  His plan for you is to experience the miraculous and his ultimate goodness. What hopes and dreams need resurrecting in your life?

Ask God to open up your imagination, to unlock your inner seeing to the presence of Jesus, feast on his beauty and do not be distracted by the enemy.   I can know the righteous one now in increasing measure. As I see him and catch his priorities I am not only to look up to him but look out to others, “As I have loved you, so you must love one another”. (John 13 v34)  The harvest is ripe now, people are tired of bad news.  As Christians we carry good news and as we love people it is so satisfying to their hearts. When we express Jesus to others people are attracted to us. We are able to offer fresh water to those who are used to drinking stinking water. It is all about love, allow the Holy Spirit to open your eyes, see the righteous one, let Jesus flood your being and then love others as he loves you.

How can we grow and develop in hearing the voice of God day by day? Everything God does through Jesus is by the Holy Spirit so a relationship with him is essential. He takes the things of God and Jesus and makes them known to us. It is important to stay thirsty and hungry for him. The Holy Spirit wrote scripture, he is the author and can open up the word to us.  The bible is a template for what God has done in the past. We actually have the living word (Jesus) living inside of us. We have the privilege of being called into a shared life with him.  Tune your inner ear to hear what Jesus says and then obey it. Obedience sets us up to receive more, “Whoever has will be given more, and he will have an abundance” (Matthew 13 v 12).

In Revelation Chapter One we find John, the closest disciple to Jesus who would rest his head on his Lords chest, seeing Jesus in a totally new dimension.  This time the purity and power of his Lord was so overwhelming that John actually collapses because of the majesty of his presence. “When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead” (Revelation 1 v 17).  John glimpsed another view of the righteous one. It is the same for us, what he saw we have permission to see. It is for each one of us to have our own hearts ravished by the wonderful glorious one.
